Privacy Policy
Effective date: 24 September 2026 · Last updated: 24 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information TRU 1% collects, why it is needed, how it is used and protected, and the choices available to you. It applies when you create an account, use the app, connect Strava or Google Calendar, submit race-result sources, or complete an After Action Report.
What we collect
- Account and athlete profile information: your name, email address, sport and experience level. We use this information to operate your account and tailor the app to your training background.
- Strava data: when you choose to connect Strava, we access your athlete profile, activity history and associated performance statistics, such as activity type, date, duration, distance, pace or speed, elevation and heart-rate data where available. We use this data to show your training history, identify performance trends, add relevant context to coaching responses and pre-fill race-day information in an After Action Report. We do not access Strava data unless you authorise the connection.
- Google Calendar data: when you choose to connect Google Calendar, we access calendar event titles, dates and times, and the location or description where needed, for events that may be race-related. This access is used to identify possible races for your review and to read, create and keep confirmed race events in sync. The feature is limited to race-event syncing; we do not use the contents of your wider calendar beyond what is necessary to identify, display, create and update race-related events.
- Race results: information imported from external links you submit, such as Roots & Rain, race-timing websites or club result pages, and results you paste or enter manually. This can include event name, venue, date, category, finishing position, field size, finish time and gap to the winner.
- After Action Reports: information you choose to record after an event, including sleep, nutrition and fuelling, effort and pacing, energy, technical execution, equipment issues, pain or soreness, recovery and your reflections or key takeaway.
How we use it
We use the information described above to provide the specific features you request:
- To generate personalised coaching insights using your recent training, race history and After Action Reports—for example, highlighting how sleep, fuelling, pacing or effort may relate to race outcomes.
- To track performance trends over time, including changes in activity volume, race position, times, venues, course types and self-reported preparation or recovery.
- To populate the Race Calendar with races you add or confirm and to keep those events synchronised with Google Calendar when you enable that connection.
- To populate Results Analysis with structured race records and summaries of strong or weak venues, course types and longer-term performance patterns.
- To operate, secure and improve the app, respond to support or privacy requests, and diagnose problems with features you use.
Connected services
Connections to Strava and Google Calendar are optional. We request only the permissions needed to provide the connection you choose. Authorisation tokens are used to retrieve or update permitted data on your behalf and are not exposed in the app's browser interface. You may also submit links to third-party results-hosting websites. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which govern how they independently collect and handle your information.
Google User Data
TRU 1%'s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google Calendar data is used solely to display, create and synchronise race events within TRU 1%. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared with third parties except where strictly necessary to provide, secure or support the calendar-sync feature, or where required by law.
You can revoke TRU 1%'s access to your Google account at any time through your Google Account permissions or by disconnecting Google Calendar from the app's Connectors page. Google user data held by TRU 1%, including stored connection credentials and synced calendar records, is deleted from our systems within 30 days after you disconnect the integration or delete your account, except where a longer period is required by law.
Storage and security
Your information is stored on TRU 1%'s backend infrastructure and is encrypted in transit using industry-standard secure connections and encrypted at rest. Access controls restrict each athlete to their own records. Access by the service and its systems is limited to what is necessary to operate, maintain, secure and support the features described in this policy.
Tokens for connected services are stored securely on the backend rather than in frontend code and are used only to make authorised requests to the relevant service. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. No method of electronic storage or transmission can, however, be guaranteed completely secure.
We don't sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information, connected-service data or Google user data. We do not use connected data to build advertising profiles or serve targeted advertising. Information is shared with service providers only to the extent needed to run and secure TRU 1%, under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations, or when disclosure is required by law.
Your choices
- You can disconnect Strava, Google Calendar or any other connected service individually at any time from the Connectors page without deleting your account.
- You can request a copy of the personal information and stored athlete data associated with your account.
- You can request correction of inaccurate account information or deletion of individual content where that option is available in the app.
- You can request full deletion of your account and associated data by emailing deanlucas4@gmail.com.
Data retention
We retain account, training, race-result, calendar and After Action Report data while your account remains active so the app can provide historical analysis and coaching. If you disconnect an integration, data and connection credentials received through that integration are deleted from our active systems within 30 days. If you request account deletion, your account and associated personal data are deleted from our active systems within 30 days, except for limited information we must retain to meet legal, security, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution obligations. Residual copies in protected backups may remain until those backups are securely overwritten in the ordinary backup cycle and are not used for normal product operations.
Contact
For privacy questions, requests for a copy of your data, or account and data deletion requests, email deanlucas4@gmail.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to TRU 1%, connected services, legal requirements or our data practices. The effective and last-updated dates at the top of this page show when the policy took effect and when it was most recently revised. If a change materially affects how we collect, use or share personal information, we will provide a clear notice in the app, by email, or through another appropriate channel before the change takes effect where required.
Not medical advice
Coaching feedback in the app is for informational and training purposes only. It is not medical advice. Please consult a qualified professional for any injury, health or medical concern.
